Onion is a crop of cold season. In Maharashtra, onion peak kharif and winter season are taken. Nashik, Pune Summer season for onion is planted in Satara. For better growth of onion is 20 °C to 25 °C and 70% moisture content. Due to excessive rainfall, overcrowding and cloudy weather, the incidence of onion crops is very high. The growth of onions and the production of biodiversity depends on the temperature and the duration of sunlight.

When harvesting of onion crop is slightly larger, it is better to increase the temperature from 25 °C to 30 °C, during the harvesting period from 15 °C to 20 °C and onion harvesting, when the temperature is 12 °C to 15 °C.
