Onion is a cool season crop. Onion crop is grown in Nashik, Pune Kharif and Winter season in Maharashtra. Onion is cultivated in Satara during the summer season. 20°C to 25°C and 70% humidity for good onion growth. Onion crops are heavily affected by heavy rains, heavy rains and cloudy weather. Onion growth and biodiversity production depend on temperature and duration of sunlight.

When harvesting of onion crop is slightly larger, it is better to increase the temperature from 25 °C to 30 °C, during the harvesting period from 15 °C to 20 °C and onion harvesting, when the temperature is 12 °C to 15 °C.
