The potato is a starchy, tuberous crop from the perennial nightshade solanum tuberosum. In many contexts, potato refers to the edible tuber, but it can also refer to the plant itself. Common or slang terms include tater, tattie and spud.
Additional potato bed planting if you do not want to take the time to prepare a potato bed, you can also choose your potatoes by using straw or mulch. Simply loosen the soil so the roots get good aeration, food and irrigation. Place the seed potato at top of the soil and cover with 4-6 inches of straw or mulch.
Most of the potatoes are harvested in the last two weeks of September and the first two weeks of October.
The seeds are made of about 12 inches apart in rows that are spaced 2 to 3 feet apart.
Yellow pen sticky trap should be applied to white flies and aphids. Spray 5% neem and Poseidon 2 gm of water per 1 liter against lice sucking insects.
